How to become an Influencer without showing your Face

One might think an influencer is someone really famous that everyone knows how they look and what their name is. However, there are thousands of influencers out there that have never shown their face. Whether it is by wearing a mask, hiding their face with effects, or don’t even film their body at all.
Some influencers want to keep their identity safe to enjoy both the influence an influencer can have but at the same time don’t give up their private space and stay anonymous.

In this post, I will show you how you yourself can become an Influencer without showing your face or revealing your identity at all.

What is an Influencer

An Influencer is someone that can influence others by saying or doing specific things.

This ability is mostly used to motivate people to motivate potential buyers to buy a product or service by promoting or recommending the items on social media.
Influencers mostly produce content in one specific niche whether it is Beauty, Gaming, Fitness, or else.

For brands, influencers can be really helpful to promote their product or service and bring them closer to their potential customers. They help them motivate people to buy their products.

To become an influencer you don’t need to show your face, what counts most is the content you produce. The best example of this is Daily Dose Of Internet, videogamedunkey, or the Instagram Meme-Page Memes.

Influencers mostly use Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok to connect with their audience. But you can also use Snapchat, Telegram, or other channels to do that. I will explain Youtube, Instagram and TikTok in this blogpost

How to get Big on YouTube without showing your face

There are many YouTube Influencers that actually never showed their face and still got very successful. A prime example of this is the YouTuber “Daily dose of Internet”. He creates videos that consist of many short videos that are supposed to make you laugh or are just interesting.

The YouTube Algorithm

The YouTube Algorithm works in three different discovery systems:

  • One selects videos for your homepage
  • One selects the videos that are recommended to watch next
  • One ranks the videos for any search

The goal of the algorithm is to find the right video for viewers to watch.

Those videos are determined by the viewer’s watch history, the video’s success, and other external factors like overall audience or market.

If you want to learn more about the YouTube Algorithm, here is a post from Hootsuite.com that I recommend you to read.

How to Become a YouTube Influencer

  • Create your YouTube channel
Before starting your YouTube career, you need to set up your channel first. Set up a good-looking profile and channel banner. Choose a name for your YouTube account that is unique, simple, and memorable.

  • Find your Niche
The most popular and successful YouTubers have a specific niche they create content for. Whether it be Comedy, Gaming, or Make-Up tutorials. Choose a niche you are genuinely interested in so that your content reflects the excitement and expertise you have on that topic and your audience will catch the level of enthusiasm that you have.
Pick a niche that you will not get bored of or run out of video ideas.
Make yourself a name for that niche and try to create a new twist on the content.

  • Create content
Try to create good quality videos, that is often what differentiates YouTube influencers from other contributors. However, your videos do not need to be perfect as an aspiring YouTuber- and don’t expect them to be. As time goes on your skills in editing and filming videos will grow with your channel as much as your experience will.
When you’re getting started you don’t need to have expensive equipment, you can even start by editing your videos with free apps, but try to still achieve a level of quality that is still good.

  • Optimize your videos for the Algorithm
To get people, that are interested in the type of videos you create, to discover them, you need to understand how videos get found and how you can optimize your content.
Put keywords and names in your YouTube video titles and also in the video descriptions.

You also need to keep your audience hooked on your video and to keep them watching your other videos on your channel. Put in buttons to redirect them to your other videos at the end of every video you create.

  • Post consistently
Develop a content calendar to post consistent videos at a specific time on a specific day.
This way viewers expect new content from you, which encourages them to visit your channel at specific times a week to check out your new content.

  • Create Partnerships
To also get money from your YouTube channel and become a real influencer, you need to form partnerships with brands. Basically what you need to do is find brands that sell products or services that suit your niche. You can hit them up and ask if they are willing to pay you for promoting their products.

You can also use Sponsorship Marketplaces to find brands to work with, like for example:

The TikTok Algorithm

The TikTok algorithm determines what videos are shown on someone’s For You Page, TikToks Homepage. It evaluates what videos one might watch based on their individual preferences and activity history.

The 3 main factors that influence your TikTok recommendations include:

  • User interactions

This is determined by the videos you like and share, the accounts you follow, and the comments you post

  • Video information

This is determined by the length, the captions, the sounds, stickers, and hashtags the video includes

  • Device and account settings

This is mostly defined by the language preference and country settings

How to get Big on Instagram

With roughly one billion monthly users, Instagram is one of the biggest social media platforms at the time. Therefore an Instagram Influencer career can be very lucrative and bring you a lot of money and fame.
A Instagram Account that got big without ever showing their face is “Memes and Maps”:

Instagram Algorithm

The Instagram Algorithm works by four key factors that influence the feed post:

  • Information about the post:

Information like is the post a photo or video, when was it posted, and how many likes does the post have

  • Infos about the poster:

Information like are you friends, with the poster and how often do people engage with their content

  • Your activity:

What type of content do you typically engage with

  • Your interaction history:

Do you like or comment on posts

Based on that information the algorithm calculates what kind of posts you would probably like and which not so much. But there are other factors that play into that too, like for example how much time you will spend on the post if you will like and comment on it, how likely are you to save the post and many more considerations.
